Jonas Grimås is a Swedish director and writer based in London since 1988. He won a BAFTA for the short film ‘Artisten’, and was nominated for the same award for ‘Marooned’. He has directed around 100 hours of prime-time drama and documentaries for BBC, ITV, SVT and Channel Four, including Silent Witness, Second Sight, Hamish Macbeth, Wallander, Hope and Glory and Heartbeat to name a few. As an independent director-producer, he has made a string of award winning short films and numerous documentaries about painting, conducting, directing, glass design and concert performances. He is currently combining his filmmaking with teaching at the London Film School (since 2020). Before he came to the LFS he taught and guest lectured at a string of film schools in the UK, Europe and beyond. In 2011 he was named Cultural Personality of the Year by The Stockholm Cultural Awards.
