It all started in 2012 with a two day seminar at the London Film School, where I went through every step of the directors preparation process - from before you read a script for the first time until you shout Action. The idea was to de-mystify the process, to clarify in a simple and clear way what the job actually is (you'll be surprised) and what everybody else does, to help you understand how to best collaborate with them and make your idea or script an even better film (and the work more efficient and fun!).

I've held the seminar in seven countries so far, and here is what some of the participants said:

This seminar is now written as a book (in 2016) and is closely based on the seminar. It takes you through the preparation process - step by step - in chronological order. It's now on the reading list of many film schools, and is suitable for filmmakers - directors, producers, cinematographers, sound recordists, even actors - at ANY level.
